CPSC recent recalls on toys, cribs and kettles

Check the list of recent recalls below to ensure that you don't have these hazards in your home.

Pull-A-Long Friends:  Toucan, Alligator and Sharky Friends pose a choking risk to younger children if wooden components break. Manufactured by Manhattan Group, sold Sept 09-Jan 10 for approximately $22 in stores nationwide as well as online and in catalogs. Return to the store where purchased for a refund.

Animated Lamps: Imported by Innovage, Discovery Kids marine and safari animated lamps (click here for specific model numbers) pose fire/burn hazard due to potential (and reported) shorts in circuit boards. Sold June 09-Jan 10 nationwide at mass retailes and online for $10. Contact Innovage for full refund.

ChildESIGNS drop-side crib: Generation 2 drop-side cribs (model numbers here) present suffocation, strangulation and fall hazards with three reported deaths. Plastic pieces can break causing drop side to detach. Sold at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Buy Buy Baby, and local furniture stores for $60-160. Manufacturer is no longer in business, so immediately return to retailer for refund or store credit remedy.

Marth Stewart tea kettles: Copco and Wild Leaf Tea Co. Bristol model and Martha Stewart Collection enameled steel tea kettles pose burn hazard if handle falls off. Sold Oct 05-Jan 10 online and through national retailers such as Macy's and Linens 'n Things for $35. Stop using and contact Copco for a refund.
