Avoid organic prices on these 12 low-pesticide produce items

Recently, I published a post about the top 12 produce items to purchase organic due to their higher levels of pesticide contamination. According to the Environmental Working Group, the 12 listed below are the least contaminated. If you're looking to save on groceries (and who isn't?), feel better about picking these up at your neighborhood supermarket for less instead of hearing your wallet scream at Whole Foods' checkout.
  1. onions (lowest levels)
  2. avacado
  3. sweet corn - frozen
  4. pineapple
  5. mango
  6. asparagus
  7. sweet peas - frozen
  8. kiwi
  9. cabbage
  10. eggplant
  11. papaya
  12. watermelon
Broccoli, tomatoes and sweet potatoes round out the safest 15 - wanted to mention those since they're pretty popular.
